Storie di Chernobyl
Segnalo da Momoblog che seganala da Slashdot che segnala da New Scientist questa intervista (
)a un ingegnere sopravvissuto all’esplosione del reattore di Chernobyl.
Riporto anche le righe da lui segnalate, fanno impressione davvero:
The huge turbines were still standing, but everything around them was rubble. [My friend] must have been buried under that. From where I stood I could see a huge beam of projected light flooding up into infinity from the reactor. It was like a laser light, caused by the ionisation of the air. It was light-bluish, and it was very beautiful. I watched it for several seconds. If I’d stood there for just a few minutes I would probably have died on the spot.
Metto sul piatto anche un famoso racconto fotografico di una ragazza che è andata a visitare la cittadina fantasma di Chernobyl qualche anno dopo. Mi sono sempre riproposto di pubblicarne la traduzione in inglese, ma…. vabbè.
